This is actually a Filipino dish and its totally hassle free... no chopping of garlic, no sauteing of anything, no marinading of chicken and blah blah blah. Basically you just toss in all the ingredients, boil, simmer then serve.
There are alot of variation to the recipe, but mine is pretty much the basic. Hope you guys will enjoy it as much as my mum-inlaw and hubby had for today hehehe
This recipe serves about 4, if not more or less :)
Preparation Time: Less than 5mins (depending on how fast you can locate your Bay Leaf!)
Cooking Time: 15mins
Ingredients
- Half a chicken (cut into 8 or more pieces)
- 4 clove garlic (slightly crushed)
- 1 bay leaf (a must have!)
- 2-3cups water
- 1 cup soy sauce (i used to use Kikoman, but now I'm using Kicap Kipas Udang Hijau)
- 1tbsp vinegar
- Use a stockpot or any sort of pot for this cooking
- Peel your garlic and crush them slightly
- Combine chicken, water, garlic, bay leaf and soy sauce into the pot and turn on your stove
- Let it boil for 5mins and leave it to simmer for 10mins
- You can now mix in the vinegar
- Keep it on low heat for another 2-3mins before you turn off your stove and its ready to serve
